Teddy Bear Brunch

For most children and adults, the teddy bear is a symbol of love and security. It's a source of comfort when they sleep and a form of protection when they are awake and feeling vulnerable. 

The Children's Bereavement Center of South Texas is so much more than a place where grieving children come to heal; it's a place of transformation. The center serves thousands of children, caregivers, and community members through ongoing counseling, education, and support groups. 

Special Thanks to the Build-A-Bear Foundation for its generous donation of 200 Teddy Bears for this event, and we hope to match their donations. We kindly ask all attendees of this event to bring along a new teddy bear to donate as well. We will also welcome specail guest Bearemy from 11AM - 12 PM and again from 1PM - 2PM.

A portion of the proceeds from the Teddy Bear Brunch will benefit the Children's Bereavement Center. 

Children’s Bereavement Center of South Texas was founded on May 20, 1997, as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Recognizing the permanent impact loss can have on young people, the Center was established to help children and families grieving the death of a loved one. In a culture that does not talk about grief and bereavement, and in a world that doesn’t “get it,” the Children's Bereavement Center does.

The Center is always accepting new teddy bears that act as a transitional item for children when they start their journey at the Center. When you donate a teddy bear, you remind the children that they are not alone in their journey through grief. Services are provided at no cost to the children and families served.
